MP pays visit to Afro-Caribbean Centre
Adrian Bailey MP met with staff from the Afro-Caribbean Resource Centre in Sandwell on Friday 29th February. The meeting focused on issues related to the 10,000 Afro-Caribbean’s living within Sandwell as well as discussing what more needed to be done in order to raise awareness for the services provided by the Centre. The Centre employs over 100 staff members who provide such services as: meals-on-wheels, in home social care as well as physical fitness sessions for pensioners. The Centre staff has served Sandwell for over 21 years and with the help from their elected representative believe more can be done for the local Afro-Caribbean, as well as other groups, in the future. After the meeting Adrian commented: “I was astounded by the level of community involvement and support services the Centre provides to local people, especially meals-on-wheels and social care.” For further information log onto: http://www.wbacrc.org.uk/html/home.html or contact Tel: 0121 525 9177
