Visiting the Palace of Westminster
Visitors who tour Parliament will see the key areas of the estate, such as the Commons and Lords debating chambers and the Queen’s Robing Room. UK
residents can tour throughout the year. Accompanied by a trained guide, visitors travel through designated areas of the parliamentary estate and official tours take about 75
minutes.
UK residents
Free tours are held throughout the year, and you need to arrange a place through your MP or a Lord. Visitors pay for a tour during the Summer
Opening, in advance or by queuing on the day.
Families
Please note that tours are not recommended for young children as there is a lot of walking. Pushchairs are allowed, but larger models will not fit in certain areas.
Bags
Bags or luggage larger than those permitted in aircraft cabins may be refused entry. Parliament has no facilities for leaving items; commercial outlets are available nearby at Victoria and Charing
Cross stations.
Toilet break!
Visitors going on a tour should be aware that they last around 75 minutes and there are no facilities available at the starting point. Accessible public toilets are at the nearby Westminster tube
station. Within Parliament disabled toilets are located off Central Lobby.
Booking a Tour
Guided tours of the building take place during the Summer Recess; more details are given on the Parliament website.

At other times, you must contact your MP to obtain a permit. Times and numbers are limited so, consequently, there is great demand for tours and you should contact your MP's
office to make the necessary arrangements well in advance - two to three months ahead - and should be as flexible as possible in choice of date. Constituents are not admitted for tours of the
building unless they have made a booking through their MP.
If you would like to make a booking through Adrian's Westminster office then please contact Gurpreet Brar at brarg@parliament.uk
