Adrian meets dedicated Job Centre Plus Staff- Friday 11th January 2008
Adrian Bailey MP today met with staff and management of Oldbury’s Job Centre Plus. Discussing local employment partnerships and the pathways to work initiative Adrian commended the ‘essential’ work undertaken by staff. Local employment partnerships, which are aimed to sign up companies to take on long term unemployed, will help local residents to find jobs. Furthermore the pathways to work initiative will be providing further support to enable people to work who would otherwise be on incapacity benefit. Adrian commended the work of local staff and the schemes, stating: ‘Job centre plus staff carry out an essential and often undervalued service in matching peoples skills to the jobs available locally. By doing so they can transform the life chances of people.’ ‘There work involves a high level of local knowledge and sensitivity to the needs of customers.’
