Adrian attacks Kraft's decision

Adrian has criticised Kraft's decision to move control of Birmingham-based Cadbury to Switzerland to avoid paying British taxes.

In his role as Business, Innovation and Skills Select Committee Chair, Adrian said:

"I am disgusted by Kraft. Cadbury is an iconic British brand and for it to have its headquarters overseas does not seem right. Kraft has certainly said some things and then done others which appear to be totally contradictory to its original commitments. It is a matter of huge concern."

The Select Committee completed an inquiry in to the Kraft takeover of Cadbury earlier this year, but Adrian has said that the Committee hopes to re-examine the issue as part of a wider inquiry into corporate governance next year.

Adrian has also written a  formal letter to Kraft’s Chief Executive Irene Rosenfeld summoning her to a meeting in the New Year
