Guardian Prints Correction

Guardian Newspaper Prints Correction

The Guardian newspaper has now printed a correction after falsely accusing Adrian Bailey MP of using the Solihull Tanning Centre as part of his expenses.

The MP for West Bromwich West had spent £160 to hire the Sandwell Training Centre to help unemployed people back into work. The National Guardian Newspaper printed the story without checking with the local MP or his staff about the hand written claim.

The Guardian newspaper has now published an apology and has paid damages of £1000 to Cancer Research UK, a charity based in Adrian’s constituency.

Mr Bailey said: “This was an incredibly sloppy piece of journalism which could have had disastrous political consequences for me. I had to act promptly to correct the article.
